Hi Reader,
One year ago on March 5th, I laced up my running shoes and took my first steps back into something that had always been a part of me.
I was one year postpartum. I’d spent the month before going on walks, intentionally moving my body, building up the habit. And on that day, I decided - okay, I think I can start moving a little faster.
Fast forward a year, and I’ve run 613 miles. (Which, by the way, is about the distance from me in Chicago to Memphis. WHAT.)
But here’s the thing... starting didn’t just happen that one day in March. It happens every single time I run.
Some days, I want to run. Other days, I’d rather crawl into bed and binge Drag Race. But I lace up anyway.
And the first few minutes? They always feel a little tough. My body’s warming up, my brain is still fighting me. But then something shifts. My breathing evens out. My mind quiets. And that anxious energy I was carrying? I can feel it leaving with every step.
The hardest part isn’t the running. It’s choosing to start.
Okay, and sometimes it's the running, too. 😂
But, Reader, it's the same with writing emails.
You can overthink it. Tell yourself you’ll do it tomorrow. Or next week. Or when inspiration magically strikes.
But the truth?
You just have to start.
Even if it feels clunky at first.
Even if you don’t want to in the moment.
Because once you get moving, you’ll find your rhythm.
And I can almost guarantee... you’ll feel better for having done it.
So if you’ve been waiting for the “perfect” time to send that email? This is your sign.
I've included an AI prompt below to help you push past that "starting" phase.
Use it, tweak it, make it your own... just start. Lace up. Hit send. Get moving.
You’ve got this!

I need to write an email but I'm having a brain block. Can you ask me some questions to help me get the juices flowing? Ask me questions about my life and things that have recently happened to me. It could be about [topics that are relevant to you - like family, kids, hobbies, shows you like, music, etc]. Then, I'd like help tying this story into an email for my audience related to [your niche - like for me, it's copywriting or email marketing].
