Hi Reader,
Sunday evening, I took my 4 year old to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. She'd been looking forward to it for a week - Mommy, when is the birthday party?? every day. for like, weeks.
We walked in, ready to see all her friends from daycare… but something was off. No party table, no decorations, no familiar faces.
That’s when I checked the invite again.
The party had been on Saturday. We had completely missed it. 😩
Cue the mom guilt. My daughter’s eyes welled up with tears, and I felt horrible. I apologized and told her that even mommies make mistakes sometimes.
But instead of letting it ruin our day, I made her a deal: We were already out, so why not turn it into a special girls' night?
We played arcade games, shared a cheese pizza and Dippin' Dots, and she ran around on the dance floor.
By the end of the night, she declared it “the best girls' night ever!”
And it hit me - mistakes aren’t the end of the story.
I've made plenty of mistakes that I needed to recover from.
In front of tens of thousands of people, I have:
- Sent emails with the wrong link
- Sent emails with a wrong price
- Sent emails with the wrong dates
- Sent emails at the wrong times
- Launched a product and had 0 sales
But can I be honest, Reader?
How you recover is what matters.
No business is perfect. No marketing strategy is flawless. But when things don’t go as planned, you always have the chance to rewrite the ending.
So if something in your business feels like a mistake, step back and ask yourself:
👉 What’s the next-best move I can make?
I opt for laughter. Because for me, it works better than crying.
Like this meme I saw this weekend -
Because sometimes, the best moments (or the best sales strategies!) come from what wasn’t the original plan.
Here’s to making mistakes—and turning them into something even better. 😉

AI IDEA
Made a mistake? Try putting this into ChatGPT:
Oh my gosh, I can't believe I just [the mistake you made]. I need to try to fix this and I'd like to do it with some laughter and keep it light-hearted. How can I come back from this?
