embarrassing high school pic

Hi Reader,

I ran a half marathon last week (that's 13.1 miles, if you needed a reminder 😏). 🏃🏼‍♀️

I mostly signed up to keep myself running through the summer (I hate summer running).

I wanted the race to be chill, dawg - no chasing a PR, no stressing the clock.

Except, when I crossed the starting line, my competitive gene got the best of me just a lil bit. 😂

And when I crossed the finish line, I was only 11 minutes behind my personal best. 🤯

Even though I wasn’t going “all out,” my training foundation had gotten stronger. I didn’t try as hard as my PR, but the consistency I’d built made me faster (and way less sore) anyway.

✨ That’s the magic of showing up. ✨

It works in running, and it works in business. I’ve been emailing every week. I’ve been posting on Instagram and LinkedIn.

... and now I’ve got three discovery calls lined up. 🎆

Not because I sprinted (I hate sprinting, lol). Not because I gave 110%. But because I stayed in the race. 🏃🏼‍♀️

👉 The results don’t come from pushing harder, they come from showing up consistently.

For example - I came across my "Most Improved Runner" plaque from high school cross country the other day (WHY would they choose this pic???). Still showin' up though. 🥹

So anyway, if you’ve been holding off on hitting “send” until things feel perfect… maybe this is your nudge to lace up, show up, and let consistency do its thing.

🧡 Hayley
