Sunday night, I was chopping green onions for dinner, doing dishes, half-thinking about my to-do list… when slice.
I looked down and realized I had just donated a small part of my finger to the cutting board. 😬
Cue a panicked trip to the ER, a comically large bandage, and me now typing this email with nine functional fingers and one ET phone home finger.
But here’s what hit me between the throbbing and the “ma’am, please keep that hand elevated”:
I got hurt because I wasn’t focused.
I was trying to do everything - cook dinner, manage the chaos, think about work - and I paid for it (literally, in blood).
And isn’t that exactly what happens in business?
We try to follow everyone else’s systems, frameworks, and “this worked for me” strategies… and end up losing pieces of ourselves in the process.
