potato sauce 🥔

read time: 1:16

Over the weekend, my newly-minted 5-year-old was playing in her toy kitchen. She came marching over to me with a plastic bowl and announced:

“Look, Mommy! Potato sauce!”

Apparently the tomatoes we grow in the backyard are, in her words, potatoes. Which means spaghetti night? Pizza night? All made with “potato sauce.”

And let me tell you—once that phrase popped into my head, it's living there rent-free.

🍕+🥔= nope.

But it made me think about how one little word can totally change how you feel about something.

👉 Tomato sauce? Delicious. Comforting. Bring on the carbs.
👉 Potato sauce? Gross. I never want pizza again.

That’s the power of words in your copy.

Use the right words, and people are hungry for what you’re offering.
Use the wrong ones, and suddenly they’re backing away, gagging (lol).

So when you write your next email or post on social, ask yourself:

🤨 Am I saying exactly what I mean?
😬 Or am I accidentally serving up “potato sauce” when I meant “tomato sauce”?

Because clarity isn’t just nice... it’s what makes your audience lean in (instead of gagging and running).

And PSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTT - if you’ve got a project and you need some ✨ clarifying messaging ✨ , hit reply and let’s chat. I’ve got space in my pipeline and would love to help you cook up some potato tomato sauce for your business.
