Well HAPPY FALL, Reader!
It's my FAVORITE season 🍂 - cozy sweaters, pumpkin everything, crunchy leaves… chef's kiss.
But my Monday? Not so perfect at all.
By 9:30 a.m., my 2-year-old was already home from daycare because—wait for it—he bit a kid. Again.
Broke skin. 😩
Honestly, I’ve lost count of how many times this has happened (his molars have been taking MONTHS to come through, plus he has a speech delay).
The week of my birthday, he was sent home 30 minutes before my birthday lunch and I had to emergency call my neighbor to watch him so I could still go out with family.
Here’s the thing: when my toddler bites, I focus a lot on how it’s wrecking my day… but the truth is, it’s not really about me.
It’s just his way of reacting when he doesn’t have better tools yet.
And honestly? Your email list is the same way.
Sometimes your audience “bites back.”
👉 They unsubscribe.
👉 They ghost.
👉 They hit spam (ouch).
It stings. But it doesn’t mean you’ve failed. It means you need to adjust how you’re showing up.
Sometimes, that means channeling your own feral toddler energy in your subject lines—getting bold, unexpected, maybe even a little messy.
But other times? It’s about giving yourself structure, so your emails don’t feel like chaotic bite-fests every time you sit down to write.
That’s where planning ahead makes ALL the difference.
👉 Reply "I need to plan my emails!" and I’ll send you my AI-Powered Q4 Email Planner— for free.
It’s designed to help you map out your email content for the next 3 months, so you’re not scrambling (or biting) at the last minute.
(Yes, actually free. No tricks. Just because I want you to finish the year strong.)
Here’s to fewer bites and more clicks,
🧡 Hayley
