"Hey mom. Mommy. Mom. Hey mom. Hey mom. Hey mom. Mom. Mom."

That's the soundtrack of my weekends, thanks to my 6- and 3-year olds. ๐Ÿซ

Reader, I'd love to tell you I'm the picture of perfect patience.

Tossing my head back with laughter; my voice wafting through the house like the smell of the fresh pie I just pulled from the oven.

Oh children, mind your manners! Your mother will be right with you!

A 2024 mom can only dream.

Instead, it's more like, "OH MY GOSH, WHAT??? HOLD ON. BE PATIENT. DO YOU STILL WANT THIS JUICE OR NOT."

Meanwhile, I'm backlogged with their last 27 requests.

So, the non-stop mommy, mommy, mommy gets on my last nerve while I'm in the thick of being the weekend snack b*tch.

Most of us are sensitive to repetition, to say the least.

Repetition = annoying.

In business, this looks like...

I already posted on social media about XYZ last week. I can't post about it again. I don't want to annoy my followers.

Except in business, repetition is vital.

There's an old marketing rule that you need to repeat something 7 times for your audience to notice and remember it.

Of course, that's not hard-and-fast, but it reinforces REPETITION.

Why? Because we are INUNDATED with promotions. Our brains naturally filter out irrelevant information. We often forget things we see from brands.

That's why brands will repeat the same commercial over and over and over.

I was reminded of this last week after texting a good friend + business buddy (Hi Kala!).

She read my last email about customer journeys, and while the topic was one that *I* almost find annoying at this point, it hit her in a new way.

Customer journeys are SO CRUCIAL in marketing. You'll probably hear me repeat it lots of times while you're on my email list.

And maybe last week it didn't strike a chord with you...

But maybe next time, your circumstances will have changed and it'll help you have a big breakthrough - like my friend Kala. :)

Remember this for YOUR business, too - repetition is vital.

It's okay to repeat the same basic messages and reminders over and over, with a new spin.

Repetition helps your customers recall information and build trust with you.

And I know that in about 15 years, I will probably miss the non-stop mommy, mommy, mommy that fills my house right now.

Er, I can hope. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Relishing the silence of my office this morning,
